Oxford Shirt
A steadfast in many wardrobes is the Oxford shirt. Perhaps because it pairs as well with a blazer as a sweater, or just as it is. Many believe that the shirt originated in Oxford, but the fabric is said to have been manufactured by a Scottish weaving mill in the 1800s. The weaving company manufactured four different fabrics that they named after four of the world's leading universities: Harvard, Yale, Cambridge and Oxford. The Oxford shirt has become an icon and is available in different colours. Many people believe that you should have at least one blue and one high-quality white Oxford shirt in your wardrobe. Due to the versatility of shirts, we can only agree.Blue Shirt
A blue shirt is the ideal, all-round shirt that generally works very well in most workplaces, and the blue shirt is definitely no exception. Wear tucked in or as the outer layer, depending on the occasion’s formality – under a sweater or a blazer. Choose between a blue oxford for a more casual shirt or a business shirt for a more formal look.Denim shirt
For the untrained eye, it may be easy to believe that chambray and denim are the same fabric. As to not delve too deep into the subject, denim is often lighter on one side, whereas chambray is evenly coloured on both sides. This allows chambray to be dressier; however, this is sometimes a matter of taste. Many agree that the chambray shirt as well as the denim shirt are a stylish choice with trousers, a pair of jeans or chinos - in other words, very versatile.White Suit Shirt
Striped Suit Shirt
The striped suit shirt is not an alternative to the white shirt; rather it should be seen as a way to vary your day-to-day outfits. This model is perfect with or without a tie, and has a slightly more casual appearance than the white shirt.Houndstooth Patterned Shirt
If you grown tired of monochrome white and blue business shirts, perhaps the houndstooth shirt is an alternative. The houndstooth pattern has roots dating back to the Bronze Age. Fact: The so-called "Gerum's cape" is one of Sweden's oldest preserved items of clothing, woven with the houndstooth pattern and dates from 360-100 BC.Flannel Shirt
The classic chequered flannel shirt originated in Wales in the 18th century and was used primarily by farmers due to the fabric’s warmth and protective properties. Its rough surface offers a soft and warming quality that feels pleasant against the skin and is a more casual shirt choice than a business shirt. Being so versatile, the flannel shirt can be paired with both jeans and suit trousers and easily becomes a favourite. Choose between the classic chequered versions or a solid colour for a more formal feel.Corduroy Shirt
The corduroy shirt is the perfect everyday button down shirt during autumn and winter, when you need to keep the warmth in. The shirt is characterised by the parallel lines that offer great pattern depth. Wear buttoned up or open, paired with jeans or trousers with a T-shirt.Overshirt
An overshirt is the perfect combination of a shirt and jacket. An overshirt easily becomes a steadfast garment that can be combined with different trousers throughout the week. You can wear it unbuttoned with a T-shirt or sweater underneath, or instead of a shirt. Wear with sneakers or a pair of loafers depending on the style you want to wear.Tips and Care
Some tips and ideas when the temperatures allow it, wear a T-shirt underneath the shirt to reduce discoloration in exposed areas such as the armpits. Unlike other garments, the majority of shirts should ideally be washed after each use. Avoid dry cleaning as it wears hard on fine cotton fabrics, and use laundry bags to avoid fraying the edges of collars and cuffs, or damaging mother of pearl buttons in the washing machine.Vil du fortsætte hvor du var?
