A Japanese spring can offer blooming pink cherry trees, but as in Northern Europe, it can also bring unexpected snowfall. This means that more demands are placed on the clothes we wear, where comfort and simplicity are put to the test. In this article, we highlight the best spring has to offer from our Japanese department. BEAMS+, Kamakura and Auralee share the limelight.
Auralee are characterised by their unfaltering knowledge of premium materials and manufacturing. They make base garments for those who demand the best. The black, long-sleeved polo shirt is made from the finest cashmere and silk composition, making the garment a comfortable spring piece to wear over a white t-shirt with a thin jacket. The jacket’s boxy style paves way for a pair of straight raw denim jeans. Here we go all out Men in Black, where the blue seams in the jeans provide a tasteful contrast to the black. Sunglasses from EYEVAN and the Avignon derby shoes prepare you for any lunch, dinner or afternoon tea.
Heading a product with “Made in Japan” usually means craftsmanship, precise fits and the best material choices. Kamakura Shirts are no exception. Gathering inspiration from the USA’s Ivy League preppy styles, Kamakura manufactures affordable shirts that are great at work and for everyday life. The combination of the blue-white striped Oxford shirt, khaki coloured chinos and a regimental stripe tie is a timeless look. A cap and a cheerful smile make the finishing touches.
